Show A demurrer in the case of the Peo-p Peo-p vs. The Town of Vernal et al. was argued in U e First District court today. to-day. Judge King overruled the demurrer de-murrer and set tbe case for bearing September 9th. In the Olive J. Haight yB. G. B. Haight divorce case an order was made requiring defendant to pay into court $150 00 for costs, $50.00 for attorney's fee and $100.00 for witness fees. Emery county, by Wm. K. Reid at-toj-uey-at law. has filed suit for $324 80 and costs against F. C. Borreeen, son, justice of tho peace of Castle Dale precinct, F. A.Killpack and C. E. Kofford. The county claims to have been damaged by the defendants appropriating scrapers, plows, spikes, etc., under the pretense of collecting a judgment obtained against the plaintiff in fayor of Kill-pack Kill-pack out of th 3 justice's court.- Kofford Kof-ford waa Killpack's attorney. Judge Dusenberry tied the nuptial knot this afternoon for George M-Bro-kaw, aged 4S, and Louisa L- Oleen, aged 25, both of Provo. They do say that the caucus of republican re-publican delegates held in Provo today to-day developed tbe fact that Chairman Graham does not carry the sixty-three votes of the Utah county delegation in his vest pocket and that the Crane-Trumbo Crane-Trumbo machine was right in its guess that he didn't. If Graham only did as it is alleged he claimed to do. carry the sixty-three votes in his vest pocket, it would be a pretty rich thing to carry there. The latest price offered by the machine is said to be $200 00 per proxy. Of course hough, Graham when he bad them in the market and woa offering them for sIe by job lot would haye taken a smaller price per vote than $200,00. |
