DEMAND FROM WYOMING Fo Cash Collected in 1890 on a Sale of Utah County Real Estate for Taxes-Opinion Taxes-Opinion of County Attorney Gash Upon It Other Matters. The reports of county officers audited and accepted yesterday by the county court showed as follows: W. II. Taylor, justice of the peace of Salem. Fines collected $10.00. Fees allowed $3.90. II. W. Barnett, justice of the peace of Fayson. One case tried. Burglar?. Prisoner held to grand jury. Fees al lowed $10 50. Selectman Reynolds. Keport favorable favor-able on petition of T. C. Eeck et al, asking for $25.00 with which to pay bill for medical attendance upon son of James Bow of Pleasant Grove who sustained a broken arm. Selectman Reynolds. On petition of James Cobbley asking road between Pleasant Grove and Vineyard precinct. I Petition referred back for further ne-! ne-! gotiations as to right of way, etc. telectman Keynolds. Report favorable favor-able on petition of T. J. Schofield and others of Clear Creek asking for chaDge in the county road to avoid dangerous crossing of 11 G.W. llv. company. com-pany. The cost will be $600.00 of wl'ich amount the railway company will pay 75 per cent. Selectman Bullock. On claim of Dr. Addieman for services in diphtheria case at American Fork. Claim ref erred back for verification. Selectman Peery. Report favorable on petition of S, T. Curtis and others asking aid to build road easterly from Salem to Spanish Fork caoyon. Selectman leery instructed to proceed further in the matter and negotiate riaht of way for road. County Attorney Gash. On expense of trip with Fred VVinir, an insane man to Rochester, New York. Court advanced ad-vanced $125 00. efunded 511.30. Whole expense, $113 70. County Attorney Gash. On demand of Clara" S. McCormick ot Wyoming, administratrix for Sarah McCormick, deceased, for $450.00 less tax and costs of tax sale, money paid in 1890 by Cornelius Baxter to W. H. Brown then collector of taxes for Utah county. The attorney's opinion is that the county is not liable. The amount, if any, and if it was paid into thb treasury treas-ury was paid "subject to the order of the person whose property was sold," hence the administratrix will be obliged to make demand for the amount upon the treasurer or upon the estate of the ex-collector, not upon the county. On hand $100.00. Selectman Reynolds. Same. Expended Ex-pended out of poor and indigent fund, $338.93. Unhand, $61 07. Out of highway fund, $20 25. Balance on hand, $79.75. Claims aggregatinz $1,086.03 were allowed. The court this morniag heard reports re-ports from Coroner Berg on inquests held over the remains of Theodore Levcrsen, John McJIillar, Frederick Charles, George St. Clair, Frank Woods, William Allen and S. C. McAllister. Mc-Allister. The reports were accepted and filed. Claims aggregating $414.65 were presented pre-sented before the court, audited and allowed. |
