Show First District Court. The jury in the Nephi water stealing cae retired yesterday atternoon at 2:30 and returned at 11:30 last night with their verdict, finding Mr. Chase not guilty, ThecaBe of Springville City vs. Hannah Han-nah Reciisnitzer et al was taken up next after the Chase case, a jury empaneled em-paneled and evidence heard in part after which further hearing was continued con-tinued until September 16th. Mrs. Kecbsnitzer, her son and two daughters, daught-ers, are accused of assaulting one W. A. Clark on June 29th, by threatening to strike him and knock him down with rocks, by throwing a large rock at him aid by pulline him by the arm and clothes. Tne case was tried before be-fore Justice Noe at Springville where conviction of all the defendants was had. The case is now on appeal. The trouble arose between the parties over the use ot water. The grand jury reported four indictments in-dictments undei territorial laws and an order of court was made that per sons under indictment and under bands be and appear for arraisnnient in court on September 16, 1895, at 10 a.m. The com-nittee appointed to examine exam-ine Grant C. Bagley as to his qualifications qualifi-cations to rractice at the bar of this court, reported favorably, and Mr. Baglev was admitted. Adjournment was then taken till Monday morning, September 16th, at 10 a. m. |
