Show It was indeed discouraging to Bee so email an audience as was out last night at the grand concert given in the stake tabernacle. The grand new organ with Professor Daynes of Salt Lake as soloist, alone, was a drawing card that should hae packed that large building. The vocation ia indeed a charm; it was beard last night to very good advantage; many beautiful effects were produced from it under the nimble and skilled hands of Professor Daynes. With the organ as a background back-ground our choir was simply magnificent. magnifi-cent. Professor Gillaaau on his clarionet clar-ionet was superb, and in spite of the rule enforced all the evening of no encores en-cores he waB. compelled to render a Btcond selection. Jbnnathan Buckley sang well 'The Village Blacksmith," and Miss Emma Jjhn was simply charming in her beautiful serenade. She Bang sweetly, with much force and great distinctness. She was compelled com-pelled to respond to an encore. The I tabernacle male chorus in "Comrades in ArmB" was a crowning feature. Had the audience been given what it wanted it would h?ve heard the male chorus in half a dozen selections. |
