Show Sunday Schools of the Stake, A meeting of superintendents and teachers of the stake Sabbath schools was held at the meeting-house, Provo 1 at 2 o'clock, Saturday, September 7, 1895, Superintendent L. E. Eggertsen presiding. After singing, prayer was offered by Mads Jorgensen. Roll called showing fifteen present. Superintendent L. E. Egaertsen drew the attention of the superintendents and teachers of being punctual and on time at their meetings in order that tee exercises may commence and thus set the example to the pupils. This is of vital importance to the prosperity of the schools. The superintendents should not talk much in their schools, but should in tr-elr teachers' meetings consult with them and adopt plans for the best interests of their schools. Assistant Superintendent W. ' S. Rawlings presented some items of business bus-iness as follows : All superintendents should instruct their secretaries to send a brief history his-tory of their achools.as soon as possible, to the stake secretary. Conference of Sabbath echools, would be held in October. Time of holding same would be announced later, and the wards of the stake should bring their song books with them. Nickle Sunday will be the last Sabbath Sab-bath in October when all schools ebonld have the amountscollected. The exercises for the schools will be as follows for the conference: SprlDg-ville, SprlDg-ville, kindergarten class; Pleasant Groye, First ward, primary class; American Fork, intermediate class; Goshen, second intermediate class; Provo, Second ward, theological class. The following songs were named to be sung at conference from the Sunday School Union song book: We Are WTorkers"; "O, My Father"; uThe Children are Praying for Me"; "Did You Think to Pray?"; "I'll Serve the Lord"; "Joseph Smith's First Trayer"; "Hope of Israel"; 'Sowing, We Are Daily Sowing." The " rticles of Faith and Ten Commandments by all the schools are to be given in unison. Prayer by Elder Iryine of Payson. Meeting adjourned. - James Hakpt, Secretary. |
