Show The county court plowed through a considerable amount of routine work yesterday and adjourned. A couple of Indians who had a fair load of something on that made their legs unsteady, were hurried uown to their wickiup yeeterday afternoon by the city marthal. The Indians say they got the alcohol at bait Lake. H, P. and Jas. Johnson of Redmond Red-mond are being tried this afternoon on a charge of aesault with a deadly weapon. The funeral services over the remains re-mains of Miss Tena Berg, deceased, will be htld in the First ward assembly rooms at 1 o'clock p. m., on Thursday March 8ih. Friends are invited. The remains will arrive from Ephraim on this evening's train. Ins initial ball was had last night in the Eggertsen hall. It was largely attended at-tended and most enjoyably so. Mr. La Favor is a wealthy stockman. Mrs, La Favor is better known as late Mrs. Ella Westphall of Manti. Robt. Anderson, a young and rising attorney who returned a year or so ago from Ann Arbor with high honors, is before the readers of this paper soliciting solicit-ing business. Mr. Anderson is a compe tent attoinev and will be found at rooms 4 and 5. Eldredge block. Prof. H. E. Giles gave a social party to a number of his friends including includ-ing the teachers of the B. Y. academy and of the district schools, BChool board and members of the choir. While Mr. and Mrs. Beck were at breakfast Miss Edith happened to go into the parlor. There was a big fire of Bof t coal raging in the hard coal stove, and the room was rapidly rap-idly filling with smoke. Investigation proved that the flue that passes through the ceiling was red hot and that the lath, etc., had caught fire. A few buckets of water applied in time avoided a big loss. Ab it is, damage is only nominal. |
