Show A Frsrtlral Philanthropy. A free home for girls out of employment employ-ment is one of the comforting signs of the times at Chicago. It is especially intended for clerks, cashiers, stenographers stenogra-phers and bookkeepers. It proposes to give room and board free till May. Here is practical philanthropy! Many a young woman thrown out of work by the pressure pres-sure of the present hard times needs just this help to tide over and give her an opportunity to look out for work and lay definite plans for the future. The true way to help is to make it possible for a soul to think out its own plans free from the stifling grasp of bodily needs. Chicago Letter. |
