Show The temporary injunction has been raised and the California wealers may now march through Davis county into Salt Lake and Utah counties. They are expected to reach Salt Lake this evening. Mavor Baskin says that he will make no effort to hinder the further progress of the marches, but on the other hand will accord to them under the order of the district court, every right allowed the home reserves but the moment any of the wealers begin be-gin to prey upon the citizens of the city beg upon the streets, or commit any overt act he will order the police to arrest ar-rest them without parley and lodge them in the city jail, there to be treated as any other vagrants. The citv of Salt Lake will not provide food rorthe unwelcome visitors, either, and the aid and comfort they secure will be through the citizens individually, This is precistlv the policy adopted by the city of Provo from tte very Grst and that will be carried out in the future. The Carterite sympathizers may, however, how-ever, come out and form a citizens committee in behalf of the common-wealers common-wealers from California as they did for the Carter gang. The memorial services at Spring-ville Spring-ville yesterday, conducted by the G. A R. were very well attended, instructive instruc-tive and interesting. |
