Show .c. How Bob Sioan Sizes It Up. In rc;.ard to the way in which President Presi-dent Benjamin Harrison expressed himself on tlie occasion of his visit to Salt Lake City, the Logan Journal has this to say: You can't kill the scrub instinct, no matter what position the scrub may occupy. No where on his trip was President Harrison treated with greater great-er respect, or more honor shown him than in Salt Lake City. Yet he take tlie first opportunity presented to go out of his way to offeija gratuitous insult in-sult to those assembled to do him honor hon-or by intimating his detestation of polygamy and polygamists. He also went out of his wav to insult all assembled, as-sembled, because of his position, announcing an-nouncing that he had admitted more States than any other President. Among these were rotten Idaho and sparsely populated Wyoming. Both these States together have not the population pop-ulation of TJ ab; but this small cala-bered cala-bered occupant of a high official station sta-tion takes occasion to slur those before him because they were Democrats that being the reason Utah was not admitted as a State; while rotten Idaho was accorded the honor. But it enn't be helped; a scrub is a scrub. |
