Show ELMER B. JONES IN TROUBLE. The Smooth Attorney Who Has Few Friends Here Sued for $10,000 by a Salt Lake Party. Prcvo people generally know Attorney Attor-ney Elmer B. Jones who practiced law here for some time and who was once president of the National Bank of Commerce, and who, some months ago, moved to Salt Lake. His practice here was not satisfactory and sucb that he left very few friends behind. There are few who ever got into his clutches can say they were treated fairly. He is blamed as being the direct and heartless heart-less cause of several of the business failure3 that occurred in Provo. A wholesale lumber dealer in Salt Lake named W. II. Smith, has commenced com-menced proceedings of a somewhat sensational character against Jones, charging him with having converted to his own use about $10,000, money alleged al-leged to have been collected on notes and drafts on behalf of Mr. Smith snd which Mr. Jones failed to turn over. Mr. Smith alleges that he has made numerous demands for the money but without avail. Tne affairs of the late Ainsley Lumber company, which went into liquidation, are mixed up with the transaction.
