Show About Gingerbread. The homely luxury, gingerbread, has been popular ever since the fourteenth century. It was then made and Bold in Paris. In those days it was prepared with ryemeal made into a dough, and ginger and other spices, with sugar or honey, were kneaded into it. It was introduced in-troduced into England by the court of Henry IV for their festivals and was foon brought into general use, treacle being after a time employed in the manufacture instead of honey.
