At the HeBaion of the county court held yesterday the following business waB transacted; F&Mtion of William Gallup and fifteen fif-teen others of Springville precinct canyon was read and referred to Selectman Se-lectman Reynolds. Petition of J. L. Thomas, agent, asking ask-ing for refund of $5.44 tax assessed to Elizabeth H. Johnson at Vineyard for 1894, and paid by him under pro-teat, pro-teat, was read and on motion the Bum of 72 cents waB ordered refunded to Elizabeth H. Johnson on account ot two horses erroneously assessed at $20.00 each. The balance of the pe-tion pe-tion was denied. A communication from Andrew Ad-amson Ad-amson of Americar. Fork, county surveyor, sur-veyor, was received,recommending that the county roadB from American Fork to Alpine, from Alpine to the Point of the Mountain and from American Fork to the mouth of American Fork canyou ba reauryeyed and monument-ed monument-ed and asking that hia offica be removed re-moved to another room from the basement base-ment of the courthouse. The coinmun ication was r&ferred to Judge Duaen-berry Duaen-berry and Selectman Bullock to ascertain ascer-tain and report cost of such suryeying, monumenting and removal ot office. On September 3, 1895, a petition from David Ingersoll and eighty-seven otherB was filed with the court asking that a good and substantial bridge be constructed across Brovo river at the mouth of Provo canyon. That petition peti-tion was referred to Selectmen Eeyn-olds Eeyn-olds and Bullock. They reported yesterday yes-terday that they had carefully investigated investi-gated the case and found that there is great danger of accident to life and property at that point and recommended recom-mended that the petition be granted providing the petitioners will make , the road and approaches leading to the ' bridge. Judge Dusenberry and Selectmen Se-lectmen Reynolds and Bullock were appointed a committee to proceed with the work of erecting the bridge. Reports of four Inquests held by the coroner were read, accepted and placed on file. Report of O. B. Huntington, tree in spectur for Central district was read and referred to Selectman Reynolds. Selectman Reynolds rbcommanded that anew bridge be built over Bobble Greek in Springville. The matter was referred to Selectman Peery and Rey nolds with power to act. Attorney Gash handed in an opinion on petition of Hyrum Hatton for release re-lease of tax sale on lot S, block 18, plat 40," Proyo, made in 1879, over IS years ago. It was to the effect that the statute of limitation runs against the county in this matter, Hatton having hav-ing been in continuous possession of tbe laud ever sJnco the sale and paid taxes on the same to the county during that time, and tbati therefore the county tiaa no inlereac which it Could maintain main-tain either at law or equity and cannot can-not pass a good title on its certificate of sale made in 1879.
