Show St. Louis is the scene of a lively battle bat-tle betwoen organized employers and tho waiters in hotels and restaurants, eta It is tho same old strife ovor whiskers. whisk-ers. Tho employers want tho men to bo oloan shaven, and tho omployees re-fuso re-fuso to allow tho hirsute adornment which covers their faces to bo removed. The troublo has even extended to tho hackmon and coachmen, who have combined com-bined with tho waiters and havo taken a firm stand against allowing their whiskers to bo removed. They have been seeking to obtain the sympathy of tho labor organizations of St. Louis, but tho members of tho Barbers' Bar-bers' union are against them and are ready to cut tho objectionable whiskers off, shavo them off, chop them off in short, anything to removu them. Tho legislature has taken a hand in the troublo, and two bills have been introduced, in-troduced, ono requiring all waiters in hotels, restaurants, etc.. to be clean shaven and tho other making it a mis-domoanor mis-domoanor for an employer to discriminate discrimi-nate against an employee who wears a beard.
