Show PAGE A8 Summit County News JUNE 26, 2009 Kamas shooters go to Utah Summer Games and return with medals! Nine men and women from the Kamas Valley Lions Gun Club traveled to Cedar City to compete in the Utah Summer Games. The shooting events were held June 12 and 13 at the Cedar City trap club. It was nice to get out of the rain on Friday, but the rain followed the shooters to Cedar for Saturday's events. The following shooters returned with medals; in the 13-14 age group, Jake Cowan won a gold medal in the handicap. In the doubles, Jake won the silver medal and, in the Wobbles, Jake took the bronze. In the 30-45 age group, Jeff Shields won a gold medal in Wobbles and a gold in the handicap. He won the silver Jake Cowan winning the in doubles and in the singles. in the 46-59 age group, gold. Scott Cowan won a bronze medal in the doubles in the 70+ age group, Jack Shields won a bronze medal in doubles. Jack also won a silver medal in Wobbles and another bronze singles. in the handicap, Keith Cowan won a silver medal. In the women's 46-59 age group, Dianne Proctor won a silver in doubles.
