Classes take place at various locations around Summit County, including the Summit County Library (6506 Landmark Drive), the U. of U. Park City Campus (at the Park City Library, 1255 Park Avenue), and at various locations around town. A perpetual favorite is Latin Combo: Salsa and Merengue, taught by the directors of Drugaya Forma salsa dance company. In August 2005, Maria and Eduardo took first place in the Mambo King and Queen contest, Utah’s oldest and most prestigious competition. Local residents can also tap into their creative genius with Metal Work for Jewelry and Accessories, Guitar, Mastering Beginning Martinis, or Food and Wine Pairing. Or, if the back-to-school and holiday rush is creating tension, Zen Meditation can help teach students the steps toward stress management and physical and mental relaxation. For local professionals, Teams of Trust and Collaboration, taught for the first time in Summit County, will identify philosophies and actions that create and sustain high-performing teams. Some of the objectives covered in this course will include how to identify the difference between a group and a team and how an organization gets what it asks for, not necessarily what it wants. A discount for Teams of Trust and Collaboration is available to Summit County and Park City employees. Visit www.lifelong.utah.edu or call (435) 645-UofU (8638) for locations, cost, and instructor information. Class sizes are limited and classes fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged.
