Show Page 6 The Gunnison Valley Gazette FFA holds closing social GVHS teams begin workouts by LYBERTY PETERSON It's that time of year again. The heat is on and summer practices have begun. The Gunnison High School football team has been sweating themselves to pieces, and the girls' soccer team has been wearing out their shin guards. The football team has been working out and attending a lot of rigorous practices. Every morning at 6:30 they're outside running the track and pushing each other around until 8:30. They get the rest of the day to do whatever they please till 8 o'clock rolls around. Then they're in the weight room lifting and working out. The "boys of fall," as they are so often nicknamed, are preparing for a great season. Coach Ludvigson started last year's season with a bang, and this is the year he'll finish it. Last week was soccer camp for the GVHS girls. It really helped the team out and made them ready for their practice games with Manti. Between the heat and the running they endure, the girls sure have their work cut out for them. They haven't started actual practices yet, that comes next week. However, the coach has been planning out plays and different warm-ups for them to try. This season of sports is going to be incredible. Everyone come out and enjoy the heat and support the Gunnison teams. Gunnison High School Football Team Camp July 11th - 15th Camp will be held at Millard High School We will leave Gunnison Monday morning and return Friday afternoon. If you plan on playing football this fall you need to attend this football team camp. The cost is only $200. And it covers all meals, swimming pool, transportation, use of facilities, a spirit pack (2 pairs of pocketed shorts, 2 shirts, game socks, mouth piece, hat, and a girdle.) The social was held at Beck Family Farms where members of the FFA enjoyed a game of miniature golf and ate some great food. They would like to thank David and Lori Beck for the great night and time they spent with the club members. The FFA members and officers would also like to thank all of the sponsors that made this past year a great success.
