Notice of Vacancy: Two (2) positions on the Sanpete County Planning Commission have become vacant. The Sanpete County Planning Commission consists of seven (7) members and one (1) alternate. The Planning Commission has the following powers and duties: A) prepare and recommend a general plan and amendments to the general plan to the board of county commissioners; B) recommend amendments to Land Use Ordinances and maps to the board of county commissioners; C) administer provisions of the Land Use Ordinance; D) recommend subdivision regulations and amendments to those regulations to the board of county commissioners; E) recommend approval or denial of subdivision applications; F) advise the board of county commissioners on matters ads the board of county commissioners direct; G) hear or decide any matters that the board of county commissioners designates, including the approval or denial of, or recommendations to approve or deny, conditional use permits; H) exercise any other powers delegated to it by the board of county commissioners; and I) exercise any other powers that are necessary to enable it to perform its functions. Appointing Authority: The Appointing Authority for the Sanpete County Planning Commission members is the Sanpete County Commission. Qualifications: Must be a citizen of the United State of America, a resident of Sanpete County, and a registered voter in Sanpete County. Term: 3 years and until their respective successors have been appointed. Appointment Procedure: All applicants must obtain a written application from the Sanpete County Clerk's Office and submit the same. The deadline for receiving completed applications is Thursday, May 12th, 2011, at 6:00 P.M. at the Sanpete County Clerk's Office at 160 North Main (P.O. Box 100), Manti, Utah, 84642.
