Show Thursday, October 28, 2010 Society The Gunnison Valley Gazette Obituary First Birthday Kenneth Hyde Gracie Owens Redmond, Utah - Kenneth Hyde, age 91, died October 20, 2010 in Axtell, Utah of natural causes. He was born February 24, 1919 in Logan, Utah, a son of Lester and Pearl Hickman Hyde. He was raised on a farm in Blue Creek, Box Elder County. He attended the local schools and Ogden High School. He married Fern Perkins, March 17, 1941 and they were later divorced. Married Elaine Donaldson, April 30, 1968 in Arizona. She died June 4, 1994. He was drafted in the army and served his country during WWII in General Patton's 3rd Army until the end of WWII. He worked at Hill Field in Ogden and retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1975. He was a member of the LDS Church. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had been living with his daughter in Axtell for the past year. Prior to that, he lived in Redmond for three years. He is survived by his children: Gary and Jan Hyde of Layton; Jeff and Bonnie Hyde of Eden; Mary and Joe Martinez of Axtell; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; brother and sister: Joe and Norma Hyde of Aurora and Virginia Gatowski of California. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie and a daughter, Mary Jo. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Axtell LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Oliver Russell American Legion Post #105 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Axtell Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. Gracie Ruth Owens was born October 28, 2009 in Richfield. Her parents are Nathan and Melissa Owens of Centerfield. She has an older sister and brother, Raylee and Parker, who absolutely adore her. Her grandparents are Scott and Penny Gates of Salina and Ray and Twila Owens of Joseph. Her great-grandma is Doraleen Gates of Salina. She is lucky to share her birthday with her great aunt Wenda Turnbeaugh of St. George. Gracie will be celebrating her birthday with her parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and many many cousins. Gracie is a happy and very loving child. She loves to play with her sister and brother and Page 3 can't wait to be chasing them around. Gracie is definitely a daddy's girl. Her family absolutely loves this little girl and she brings a smile to their faces everyday. Happy Birthday Gracie!!!
