But, for two weary American hunters Tommy and Jeff (Portrayed by Justin Hyatt and Ryan Williams) the discovery of a magical Scottish village called Brigadoon becomes all too real. Here Tommy finds the love of his life Fiona (portrayed by Cari Garff). Unfortunately for the two best friends Tommy and Jeff, Brigadoon only appears once every 100 years and for only 24 hours. Will Tommy and Fiona find a life of happiness together, or will the two be separated by time and space? Come and find out for yourself and share in the magic of the 1947 Broadway Hit Brigadoon! Mark your calendars lads and lassie’s for the return of this timeless classic. Courtesy Photo/Anita Lyons Angus MacGuffie (Sam Anderson) looks on as Meg (Mary Matthews) talks with Fiona (Cari Garff). In 1912 the first Gunnison Valley High School classes were held in the Washington School and the Relief Society Hall. After two years the school was moved to the City Hall (currently Quail Hollow) with overflowing classes, including basketball practice in nearby buildings. High school league games were played in the Centerfield Opera House. Students from outlying areas came to school by horse and buggy. Before the new high school building was erected, the school board hired buses for transportation. Students from Mayfield went to high school at Manti. They talked with the children about the dangers of tobacco and introduced the anti-tobacco program. The name of the program is “The Truth, A Utah Anti-Tobacco Poster Contest.” The idea of the program is to show elementary students examples of antitobacco posters. The students are then encouraged to make their own posters using their own ideas and artistic talent. If 100% of the students make posters as part of an in-class assignment or if 80% of the students make a poster as homework, the class will be rewarded with a pizza party.
