Pleasant City Local Building Authority (“LBA”), acting through its Project Manager, Arapeen Community Advisors, Inc., requests proposals from licensed contractors for work to be performed on the Sanpitch Recreation and Heritage Center in the following construction specialties: • Concrete • General Carpentry including steel wall studs, steel floor joists, sub-flooring, base board, molding, interior doors, kitchen counters, bathroom counters, front facade of the entry bldg. • Drywall • Plumbing • Electrical • HVAC • Fire Suppression Sprinkling Systems • Floor Covering (epoxy floor coat & carpet) • Paint Formal RFP documents and Construction Documents (plans) are available via email, fax or in person from Architect Guilford Rand, Architectural Coalition, 1991 South State Road, Springville, UT 84663, phone (801) 491-0275. RFP and Plans may be viewed after July 10, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant City Hall, 115 W. Main, Mt. Pleasant, UT 84647, during regular business hours. Contractors may purchase plans and/or a CD containing the Construction Documents as requested from the Architect. Please call ahead before picking up. Cost is $50 per hardcopy set and/or $10 per CD plus the cost of mailing. A pre-proposal conference for all interested contractors will be held Tuesday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. Attendance is strongly encouraged. A contractor’s tour of the building site will be made following the conference. Individual site visits may be arranged through the Project Manager by calling (435) 427-0561. Proposal closing is July 30, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. No proposals will be accepted after that time. Proposals must be timely delivered to the Mt. Pleasant City Hall, (address above), Attn: Monte Bona, in a sealed envelope with the proposer’s name and specialty clearly labeled on the outside of the envelope. The LBA shall not be responsible for proposals sent through the U.S. Mail or via commercial courier service (UPS, FedEx, etc.) or by any other means that arrive after the proposal closing deadline. A public opening of proposals will take place at the Mt. Pleasant City Council Chambers (address shown above) immediately following the closing deadline. All interested parties are invited to attend. The location of the public hearing is in the Mayfield Town Hall, 52 North Main, Mayfield, Utah. The purpose of the meeting is to receive input from the public with respect to the issuance of the Bonds and any potential economic impact to the private sector from the construction of the Project to be funded by the Bonds. All members of the public are invited to attend and participate. PURPOSE FOR ISSUING BONDS The Issuer intends to issue the Bonds for the purpose of (i) financing all or a portion of the cost of construction, operation and maintenance of the Town’s culinary water system, including the construction and installation of a storage tank, distribution line improvements, additional fire hydrants, a radio-read metering system, a disinfection system, repairs and upgrades to the source meters and to construct improvements to integrate the Town’s culinary water system with that of an adjacent municipality, together with all related work and improvements; and (ii) paying costs of issuing the Bonds.
