Mr. Carter will get out a set of figures and specifications which will be required before the Contract can be awarded for surfacing the road with gravel. Three application have been sent in from Eureka for the office of postmaster, being those of Frank Beasley, the present Incumbent of the office, Edward Fox and Ernest Boyne. The time for sending in applications expired yesterday and It is understood that the selection of a postmaster from the three applications which have already been forwarded to Washington will be taken up within a few weeks. The annual August Picnic of the M. I. A. of Tin tic Stake will be held in Goshen Saturday evening. Cars will leave the L. D. S. Church in'Ett-rek- a at p. m. This is the last event, of the M. There will be community singing, concert program, music, etc., on the lawn and a big "watermelon bust," after which all will adjourn to the dance hall. They wehtthere to fish, drove the two earspff the main highway and down into a shady hollow where the rain caught them and made it impossible to get the cars back onto the road. After working for an hour or two the members of the two fishing parties gave up and spent the night In the cars. When daylight came they secured help and after the cars were pulled back to the road the return Journey was made without mishap but It was a tired bunch of fishermen, fisherwomen and that pulled into Eureka oU Monday morning.
