Park City Film Made In Utah: ‘However Long’ Park City Film‘s Made in Utah program will present a free screening of Jenny Mackenzie’s documentary, “However Long,” not rated, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. “However Long” is an intimate portrait of women living with stage four breast cancer, and the support group that connects them all. As these women process challenging questions about living with a terminal disease, themes like resiliency, hope and honesty emerge. The film will be followed by a discussion with Mackenzie. Adopt-A-Native-Elder’s 30th annual Navajo Rug Show and Sale Adopt-A-Native-Elder, a nonprofit that raises money for Navajo elders so they can purchase supplies to live, will host its 30th annual Navajo Rug Show and Sale from Friday, Nov. 8, through Sunday, Nov. 10, at Deer Valley’s Snow Park Lodge. Friday’s event, which is the opening gala, will start at 6 p.m. The Saturday and Sunday doors will open at 10 a.m. Admission is $30 for adults and $10 for children on Friday, and $5 for the general public on Saturday and Sunday. Park City Film: ‘Raise Hell: The Life and Times of Molly Ivins’ Park City Film will present Janice Engel’s documentary, “Raise Hell: The Life and Time of Molly Ivins,” not rated, from Friday, Nov. 8, to Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. Friday and Saturday screenings will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday’s screening starts at 6 p.m.”Raise Hell” is about best-selling author, Pulitzer Prize nominated journalist Molly Ivins, who served up her quality reporting with a dose of humor. Family Mental Health Support Groups CONNECT, a nonprofit that raises awareness of mental health issues, hosts a parents family and friends support group from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month and at noon on the second Thursday of the month at the Blair Education Center at the Park City Hospital, 900 Round Valley Drive. CONNECT also hosts a support group for parents and guardians of school-age youth from 4-5 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at Parley’s Park Elementary School Counseling Center, 4600 Silver Springs Drive. In addition, Connect Summit County hosts a family mental health peer support group at 6:15 p.m. every last Tuesday of the month at the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave. The sessions are free and open to the public. This group covers topics relevant to all people struggling with any type of disordered eating. Some topics include, but are not limited to; intuitive eating, body image, emotional eating, triggers and coping skills, mindfulness, and self esteem.
