Video profiles were shown at the banquet awards ceremony and are available online at KUED.org/TEACHERS. The UEA Excellence in Teaching Awards are presented to Utah public school teachers whose efforts in the classroom significantly impact the life of an individual child or group of children. KUED is proud to honor these deserving individuals with video profiles. The video profiles are sponsored in part by the Utah Education Network (UEN). “The videos are a moving tribute to educators across Utah who are committed to ensuring Utah’s children receive a quality education,” said KUED Education Coordinator Elise Brimhall. In partnership with the Utah Education Association (UEA), KUED conducted interviews with each of the winners and the person who nominated them. Charles Bell’s dedication to his students is remarkable. Jeannie Fernandez is a champion for the students. Under Lori Bullock’s rigorous and nurturing tutelage, students make life-changing progress. Students in Peter Haslam’s classes are expected to show responsibility and respect towards their fellow classmates and school. Bell, Fernandez, Bullock, and Haslam are four of the ten educators honored with the 2019 UEA/ doTERRA Excellence in Teaching Awards. These educators are nominated for more than just their commitment to teaching. A hallmark quality of every winner this year is their ability to cultivate authentic and supportive relationships with their students. They are shining examples of educators who bring out the best in their students and recognize each student’s unique potential. For information, visit kued. org.
