And she came in and stuck the landing, and, like a wedding dress, fit her perfectly.” While the cast came together naturally and rather quickly, Robinson faced the challenge of bringing the production to the stage. “In a movie, you can change the scene in a snap,” he said. “So we had to find a way to blend the scenes together in a natural flow that fit in the context of a live musical.” The problem was solved by using flats; painted scenery fastened to cabled bars that can be raised and dropped like curtains, Robinson said. “We are able to fly these flats in and out quickly and efficiently, without overshadowing the action on the stage,” he said. Robinson said “Singin’ in the Rain” is one of his favorite musicals, and there are some scenes that make him “giddy.” One of those moments comes during “Moses Supposes,” a tongue-twisting number between Don and Cosmo, he said. Another is the “Broadway” medley. “The medley is not 17 minutes like in the movie, but it’s a solid seven minutes of enjoyable tapping,” Robinson said. “Of course, the performance of the song ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ at the end of Act I is such a comforting way to end the act. I always get a little teary then, but that’s just me.” Robinson said he looks forward to presenting “Singin’ in the Rain” in Park City. “It has been nice to do this show, because I was able to tell a simple story,” he said. “It was a way for me to provide a good night of entertainment, which is what I feel I need right now.” Summer memberShipS nowion Sale PLAY NOW TO LABOR DAY! 435.649.6670 www.SilverMountainSportsClub.com SUDOKU Down 1 “Carmina Burana” composer 2 18-Across writer Roberts 3 “Absolutely!” 4 Passes out 5 Cardio procedure 6 One creating plots 7 Asian holiday 8 Land on its own gulf 9 Divided land 10 Disorderly place 11 Vague number 12 Beef cut 13 Song for a diva 14 Women’s workout wear brand 15 Young Skywalker’s nickname 16 Fix firmly 17 Court figures 21 Catchall category: Abbr. 23 “Best in Show” actress Parker __ 25 Maximum 28 Invitation notation 31 Sister of Zsa Zsa 33 William of “Carrie” 35 Supervised hospital resident 36 Cause of a road mark 37 The Auld Sod 38 Pancake cookbook photo session? 40 Take back 42 Falco of “The Sopranos” 43 Computer key 45 Comes down with 46 Opposite of rush 47 Source of elegance? 48 Actor Quinn 49 Petty officers, briefly 51 First line of a three-line eatery sign 54 Introductions 56 Japanese noodle 57 Tennis call 62 Done, to Donne 63 Hospitality 65 Geek Squad client 66 Underworld river 67 One of a Dumas trio 69 Denali National Park state 70 Victoria’s Secret purchase 71 Store posting: Abbr. 74 Algiers citadel 77 “Our National Parks” author 80 81 84 85 88 89 93 94 95 96 100 101 102 103 104 106 108 111 112 114 116 117 118 120 121 122 Look Geometry basics Criticism They’re often for the home team __-European Recent medical research subject Sets down __ sprawl Frat. counterpart Marathoner’s need If nothing changes Salon supply Stat relative Directory entries Because of Con man’s partner Tasteless “Every great architect is ... a great __”: Wright Lhasa __ Some groceries “__ yellow ribbon ... ” Promising Tolkien creatures “Argo” spy gp.
