In addition to six weeks of unlimited circuit and HIIT workouts, participants have free options like a running mechanics analysis, body composition analysis, a yoga class at Tadasana, and more. WASATCH LADIES GOLF The Wasatch Ladies Golf Association (WLGA) plans to begin its 2019 season on May 7, weather permitting, at the Wasatch State Park’s Lake Course. All area women are encouraged to join, provided they have an established GHIN handicap or are willing to establish one. The WLGA plays every Tuesday morning from May through September, plus the Wasatch Challenge (playing both the Lake and the Mountain Courses) and the Club Championship. Annual dues are $30. The rock climbing gym is planning on moving into a 15,000 to 20,000 square foot building of its own creation in the Park City Business Center across Old Highway 40 from the Park City Hospital some time in 2020. However, The Mine will close its current location on May 20. Co-founder Andy Jacobsen said expanding was always part of the plan, however, realizing that dream would put the gym between, well, a rock and a hard place. The Mine will shut its doors on May 20, and plans to reopen sometime in 2020 at a new location. It is unclear what its 20 employees will do in the meantime. SOCCER PROGRAM Park City MARC is hosting soccer leagues for teens and adults who want to develop their skills through games, activities and scrimmages. The season opens on April 24 and runs on Wednesdays for kids ages 11-15 of all skill levels. An adult seven-versus-seven league was also scheduled to start on April 11 for Tuesdays and Thursdays. The renegotiated lease started a three-month rolling plan starting in May. The Mine then notified the landlord of its desire to stay through the subsequent threemonth block and beyond, but the landlord did not approve the extension. “While we are sad to say goodbye to our current facility, we are extremely excited about opening our ‘dream’ facility and continuing to be a hub for the PC climbing community in the future,” The Mine told its members in an email announcement on Wednesday. The Mine currently employs 20 people, two of whom are full time. And while that number could expand to a total staff of 40 in the new building, Jacobsen is worried what will happen to his full-timers, manager Luke Turkington and head coach Dayton Henriksen, in the interim, while they likely won’t have work or pay.
