The Democratic meeting held on Tuesday evening at the Elks Pavi- 0" lion was addressed by Attorney General Dan B. Shields and N. T. Porter, of Salt Lake City, Congressman Milton H. Welling, candidate for United States Senator, being compelled to cancel his engagement at Silver City, Mammoth and Eureka, on account of the sudden sickness of his wife. . Mrs. Anderson sang a Democratic campaign song which was much enjoyed by the audience. In the course of his speech Mr. Shields said he was Irish, but saw no hope for Ireland except through the League of Nations. He paid much at- Mrs. Thompson, state organiser for the ladies auxiliary of the Loyal Order of Moose, arrived in Eureka last evening, coming here for the purposes of organising a loeal branch. The first meeting la called for Sunday evening, at 8 oclock, at Miners Union Hall, and all Moose, (heir wives, daughters and sisters are urgently requested to be present.
