Friday, March 22 Ziegfeld Theater Company: ‘Mamma Mia!’ The Ziegfeld Theater Company will present the Tony Award-nominated musical “Mamma Mia!” featuring the songs of Abba, for a two-weekend run, March 22-24, and 28-31, at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. Curtain is 7:30 p.m. for Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays and 6 p.m. on Sundays. Park City Film: ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ Park City Film will present screenings of Barry Jenkins’ “If Beale Street Could Talk,” rated R, on Friday, March 22, to Sunday, March 24, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium. Friday’s and Saturday’s screenings will start at 8 p.m. Sunday’s screening will start at 6 p.m. Set in early 1970s Harlem, this is a timeless love story of both a couple’s bond and the African-American family’s empowering em- brace, as told through the eyes of 19-year-old Tish Rivers. Based on a book by James Baldwin, the story takes place in a racially biased world in which the filmmaker poetically shows how love and humanity endure. General admission tickets are $8. Saturday, March 23 The Art of Connection at The Prospect Gallery The Art of Connection, a fundraiser for the Art Elevated Giving Fund that provides art supplies and lessons to schools in Kenya, will be held on Saturday, March 23 at the Prospect Gallery, 573 Main St. The all-day event will include yoga sessions and a silent auction, with an optional lunch provided by Freshies. Birds of Chicago Park City Institute will present Birds of Chicago at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts, 1750 Kearns Blvd. Birds of Chicago is the husband and wife duo of Allison Russell and J.T. Nero. Their music has been dubbed “secular gospel” by music critics. The band released its most recent album, “Love in Wartime,” in 2018. Tickets are $29. Author Event at Dolly’s Bookstore Cowboy artist Don Weller will sign his new book,”Tracks, a Visual Memoir,” at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at Dolly’s Bookstore, 510 Main St. The book, which features Weller’s watercolors of cowboys and horses, also includes short essays about about his life in art that started in advertising and design in Los Angeles and New York, to his paintings in the Wasatch Back. The group is open to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, undergoing breast cancer treatment or have survived breast cancer. It also hosts at support group for parents and guardians of school-age youth from 4-5 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at Parley’s Park Elementary School Counseling Center, 4600 Silver Springs Drive. Eating Disorders Group An eating disorders group will meet at 4 p.m. every Monday at the Dell Center, 1912 Sidewinder Drive, Suite 213. This group covers topics relevant to all people struggling with any type of disordered eating. Some topics include, but are not limited to; intuitive eating, body image, emotional eating, triggers and coping skills, mindfulness, and self esteem.
