Submitted by the Park City Summit County Arts Council After a lengthy recruitment and interview process, Leslie Chavez has been hired to work on the Park City Summit County Arts Council’s content and development. Now a Park City local, Chavez comes from California, and brings her experience in marketing and communications, background in library sciences and her connections with cultural organizations to the position. The new position will help the arts council further grow its impact, said Board President Amy Trombetti. “After an extensive search, we are thrilled to have found a new staff member to add to our arts council team,” Trombetti said. “While we’re still a lean organization, the board of directors is excited to increase our capacities through this role and are confident that Leslie’s energy, diversity and depth of knowledge will support our Managing Director and enrich our organization and the community.” Chavez most recently worked as the administrative manager for The Scribbles Institute, an art studio in Santa Cruz, California. She also has experience as a communications manager for the City of Capitola, and interned with Red Hen Press assisting in their development department. I can’t wait to see what Arts Council does next, and I’m delighted to be a part of it all.” Chavez started her position at the Park City Arts Council on March 11, and she will manage the Arts Council’s marketing and programming activities, help strengthen communications, and support the overall growth of the organization. For more than 30 years, the Park City Summit County Arts Council has served to promote and support arts and culture across the county. The mission of Park City Summit County Arts Council (PCSC Arts) is to promote, support, and strengthen arts and culture and the larger creative sector. Founded in 1986, the nonprofit PCSC Arts is one of the oldest arts and culture organizations in Park City. The organization tells the story of local arts and culture activity, programs exhibits and events, and helps shape the future through cultural planning and advocacy initiatives like Project ABC: art, beauty, culture. Over the past three decades, the nonprofit has advocated and secured significant funding for arts and culture in the community, incubated numerous organizations, and built audiences for established and emerging artists.
