Show usiness Health and Wellness Fair held Guardian of Your Community News A4 • WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2009 Jen Allen STAFF WRITER Last Saturday the place to be was out in front of Beehive Health Essentials. Together Beehive Health Essentials and Anderson Chiropractic Center sponsored and hosted a wellness fair. The two companies played host to over fifteen different companies whose main focus is health and wellness. Throughout the morning and into the afternoon there were free samples, courteous business owners explaining different products and practices as well as free entertainment. Several different classes were held throughout the day covering subjects like how to manage stress, headaches and massage. Dr. Anderson even had a booth set up with a table available for free to those who wanted to see and feel the benefits of chiropractic work. An especially popular portion of the fair was the kids corner where they could have their faces painted, have balloons made and take a picture with a fun mascot. Both young and old among the activities set up for children at the Health fair. enjoyed the frozen treat while the sun beamed down. But this wasn't a one time treat for Beehive. H2H is a local company that uses AVAILABLE horses to work with those who have disabilities. Such disabilities include visual impairments, learning disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida and Autism to just name a few. And on the far end of the fair there was always a live band playing music and setting the mood for the crowd that was in attendance. Aven Richmond, Store manager and co-sponsor of the wellness fair commented on how much fun the whole event was. Spanish 8 Theaters open under new management My Town Cinemas is pleased to announce that Spanish 8 Theaters opened under new management on Friday, Sept. 25. To show appreciation for their valued guests, Spanish 8 Theaters is offering a special promotion. To celebrate the reopening, which coincides with the renovation process, Spanish 8 Theaters is offering the "Pardon Our Dust" promotion, which will run until the "Grand Re-Opening" scheduled to take place in early November. These promo- tions include $1 adult admissions to some of the summer's hottest blockbusters, such as GI Joe, and $6 adult admissions to the latest new releases, such as Fame, Surrogates and Pandorum. Spanish 8 Theaters is also offering $1 in "Candy Cash" for every $10 dollars spent on tickets. "As a thank you to our guests for being patient with our renovations, we are renovating some of our prices, in a way that shows our appreciation for our guests," said BYU Law School Alumnus Jared Sine. "We hope our guests feel our appreciation when they visit us and notice that we are not renovating their wallets with higher prices." The renovation process begins this week and will continue until Spanish 8 Theaters' "Grand Re-Opening" celebration. Fresh paint, updated fixtures and restrooms, and other upgrades are just the beginning of the renovation process. Spanish 8 Theaters is also renovating its quality of service, including a clean-cut, friend- ly and well-trained staff, premium concessions and more. Spanish 8 Theaters is seeking community input into the renovations. Opinion boxes will be available, with discount passes emailed to each guest that leaves a suggestion. "We really want the community to have a hand in Spanish 8 Theaters' revival," said fellow BYU Alumnus Matt Brice. "This is a community theater; it is your theater. Salem Library's 1st birthday Salem Library is hosting a party in celebration of its first birthday on Thursday Oct. 1, from 4:30-6:30 p . m . A short concert playing the songs the children made up during the summer reading program will also be featured. Then on to cake walks throughout the evening with Miss Salem and her Court. A book sale will be offered and a story teller will be present. You can also "Make and Take" bookmarks. Some of the Salem City Youth Council will host a game. Sign up for new clubs, classes, Friends of the Library and a New Platinum Library Membership. A ventriloquist will be there around 6 p.m. Come see the new children's furniture » and library upgrades.
