CREATIVE COUNTY KIDS: The Fourth Grade County Fair, held on Friday, Nov. 2 1 , 2008 bt Mt. Loafer Elementary, was filled with displays of all the counties of Utah that were rnade by the fourth-grade students. Each county display was hand-made by these creative kids, from Beaver County to Weber County. The students all worked hard and long to create a county-filled successful event! Rock on fourth-graders! By Sydnie Davis and Megan Miller. The fourth grade students of Park School presented 3 short operas on Thursday, Nov. 20. They performed for the student body in the afternoon, then amazed their families at an evening performance. The Opera was made possible by Opera by Children which is the Educational Outreach Program of the Utah Festival Opera Company of Logan. The fourth grade classes started working on this project in September. Opera by Children sent a specialist to the school to help the students decide on their story lines and characters. Another specialist came and helped the students come up with musical tunes that would fit their dialogue. A third specialist came and taught the students how to paint props and backdrops for the production. The fourth grade teachers at Park had their students use Utah history for the theme of their class operas.
