On Wednesday April 30, 2008 Neumont University came to Spanish Fork High School, during lunch to speak to students who were interested in learning about their program. Aaron Reed from Neumont University came to speak and represent the university. Neumont is a unique •school, where they specialize in computer science which many students at Spanish Fork High School are interested in. "I went because I wanted to learn about the program," said student jSteven Russell, "Some day I would like to work for Pixar, so this would be a good school for me." Students were surprised to learn the Neumont is partnered with many major companies such as IBM, and Microsoft. "It's cool know that they have some big names," said Russell. The seminar was a great experience for students to learn about a school which many have never heard of. Neumont University is based in South Jordan and specializes in computer science specialties, and there are many opportunities for students who are looking to go in that field. "I learned that the number of available jobs, in that field are going up, but the people who have the degree to do them are going down," said Russell. "It's a good job market." |
