Show •Nf WS Spanish Fork Judge McVey speaks to Kiwanis WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23, 2008 • A5 Covering what matters most Fourth district court judge, Samuel McVey recently spoke to the Kiwanis club. He received a law degree magna cum laude from Brigham Young University Law School in 1983. He is married to Connie Hanks McVey, they have nine children and have lived in S,alem for many years. He pointed out that there are four challenging areas for judges to be aware of: 1. Keep your temper. 2. Try not to do the work for the attorneys. 3. Child custody cases and 4. Criminal Law suits. He pointed ,out that 90-95% of all criminal cases are drug related. Even though it is expensive to incarcerate criminals in our jails and prisons, it is cheaper than having them out in society where they steal, etc. and in reality, cost us, a lot more than if they were locked up. After his presentation, Judge McVey answered questions from club members. We need everyone's help.. Cemetery patrons "have placed plants, cut flowers, potted flowers, artificial flowers and plants, baskets, containers, stands, and other memorabilia around the head stones and sometimes covering the grave site. This makes it impossible to maintain the grass without removing or damaging the memorabilia. Please remove these items from the grass around the head stones on or before Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Some grave markers provide room on.the ; concrete skirting around the headstones for placing "these items that won't conflict with the string trimmers and mowers. We encourage patrons to use these areas only and keep all items well away from the grass. ^***»i^#i*V On Monday, !yiay 5, 2008 the cemetery crews will -dispose of all remaining memorabilia not removed •from the grass. After we maintain the grass the cemetery will be available for decoration for Mother's Day on Thursday, May 8, 2008. -V^'^,1:' , iThank You.: jfc'ffi'i'' "••' V •*>-• "^••j£# i SPRING CLEANING? - No /(well, maybe) o S 04 LU O CQ O 2 £ 2 D c < oi nsurance 798-3500 < 0 X r P-H o CO "I've marked down so much inventory I ran out of ink."- Jason Robarge, Owner Car Care Products • Car Wash •Wax • Tire Shine • Metal Polish • Wash Brushes & Mitts • Interior Protectant Interior • Seat Covers • Steering Wheel Covers • Floor Mats • Lighting • Pedals • Knobs 10BARGE A > G « E> N ' O'Y CO o SPRING SALE? u in 290 N.
