I* This year's president, .".JCara Morris, presented the business Person of the Year Sjaward to Dr. David Esplin of s-jispiin Eye Center. ^ In addition to his •jnvolvement in the Chamber community, Morris noted 's professional attention ^lo detail and thoroughness as %well as his charity and upbeat •'disposition. ,>. HJ In a letter to Chamber 'Executive director Patti j'lVitham, the city employees Jwrote, "Seth puts in countless ••hours working for the 1 betterment of the community. IHe goes above and beyond *lhe call of duty." '* Witham agreed. !V "Seth will do anything for tthe Chamber of Commerce, ..the city and the school ^strict." *"*' For her countless hours of Service td the veterans of the •Jirea, bugler and Spanish Fork •Resident Maren Christensen Received the Community •Action Award. In addition to jthe Memorial Day, Veteran's jt)ayandotherspecial services, Christensen served with Post 68 American Legion honor guard as bugler in over 80 funerals during 2006. Mayor Henderson, in presenting the Salem City Mayor's Award, noted that the recipient, Diana Pritchett, not only supervised the Youth Council in" their numerous responsibilities, but was involved, along with her husband Kevin, in a variety of charitable activities. The results of their generous donations to the Salem Community Center and many others will be felt for generations, Henderson'said. The Spanish Fork City Mayor's Award was given to ElaineOlsen.Thecity V Graffiti Czar," Olsen worked tirelessly to help keep neighborhoods and businesses safe, and clean from vandalism. Albertson's received the 2006 Business of the Year award. In addition to the awards, the new Chamber board members were introduced and installed by Summers. Leading the Chamber in 2007 is Kara Morris of Confetti Antiques as president Dr. Veloy Cook of Cook Chiropractic is the president-elect, with Macey's Bill Summers as past president, CPA Rick Ainge as treasurer and Kaye Stewart as secretary. The new board members are Dr. Adam Lee of Redrock Orthodontics, Jason Stites of Hogi Yogi, Nic Jones of Mountain High Federal Credit Union, Creed Stephenson of Titlewest Insurance, Martin Conover of the Spanish Fork Press, Jeff DeNaughal of Walker Mortuary, Janis Gardner of Harmony Home Health, Karen Payne of the Spanish Fork Clinic and Rocky Giles of Rocky's American Car Care. Continuing members are Linda Beck of Western Unlimited, Dr. David Esplin of Esplin Eye Center, Barbara Godby of Alcoa, Red Leifson of Wells Fargo, Diane Woolford of Central Bank and Lorraine Dedrickson of. Bank of American Fork. Ongoing board members include Councilperson Lynn Durrant from Salem City, Councilman Seth Sorensen from Spanish Fork City, Lana Hiskey from Nebo School District and Laura Uttio from the Department of Workforce Services. FOR ALL THEY DO: Lane Henderson, Seth Sorensen and Dr. David Esplin were the surprise recipients of honors at the Chamber banquet. Each was lauded for their commitment to the community as well as going the extra mile in all they do. SPIRIT OF SERVICE: Salem Mayor Lane Henderson thanks Diana and Kevin Pritchett for their service to the community. Diana received the Salem Mayor's Award for her involvement with the city Youth Council among other things. i PASSING THE GAVEL: Past president Bill Summers of Macey's hands the Chamber over to this year's president, Kara Morris of Confetti Antiques.
