The theme of the day was "Climbing Eagle Mountain". His project was a beautiful flag on the top of the "T" hill that can be seen from all over the valley. There were ten men in the Eagle's Nest and it was impressive. David Tebbs was the emcee for the event and twelve of the local scouts participated in the ceremony. Jerry Pollock awarded his wonderful "Eagle Stick" to Logan and they are beautiful. Scout masters in attendance were Alfred Foster, Jerry Pollock and Cary Deccio. Gayle Moore was there representing the Scouting Committee. Logan had a lot of friends and family in attendance including his sisters and brother, Leslie and her family, Levi and his family, Libby from College, and Lesha. Grandma Jenny Le Fevre was in attendance also. Good job Logan, we are all proud of you. By the way it just happened to be the birthday of Mom, April Le Fevre. What a present for her. Logan is the son of Layne and April Le Fevre. The Garkane Meeting held last week was well attended. They had a great BBQ before the meeting and during the meeting they gave away some wonderful prizes with April Le Fevre winning the TV. The Bryce Valley HS Cooking Club baked the cookies that were served and they were so good. It was a good evening for all. Congratulations to Shelly Chynoweth who is getting married on May 21st to Keith Emili of Cedar City. They will have a reception over there. Shelly is the daughter of Ken & Jean Hall, and Leo Chynoweth. Grandparents are Janet Pollock of Tropic and Mary Chynoweth of Henrieville. We send you the very best Shelly and know you will be very happy. We are delighted to hear that Hayden Adkins is home after his extended surgery and the news sounds pretty good. He is cheerful and went up to the school to say hello to his classmates and then home to rest. The Young Women made a poster for him and had everyone sign it. It was telling him to hurry and get well. We are glad you are home Hayden. He is the son of Lori Lei Adkins and the late Rob Adkins. We send our prayers and love to Roxanna Johnson who is going in Tuesday to have back surgery. We wish you well Roxanna and a speedy recovery as well. We also send out get well wishes to Zack Chynoweth who was bucked off his horse the other day and broke his collar bone and injured his shoulder. He is the son of Brett and Tracy Chynoweth of Tropic. Congratulations to Makyalla Lamas who was just baptized. Way to go young lady. Her dad is Matt Lamas. Arthur and I went to Richfield Friday afternoon to the Richfield Campus of Snow College's Graduation. Our grandson Jordan and his Mother, Debbie both graduated that day. Jordan received and Associate of Science Degree and he is bound for USU next week to start school for getting a Civil Engineering degree. We wish him luck. Debbie got a Computer Applications Specialist Certificate. We are so proud of both of them. They were one of the two mother and son teams that graduated that day. We found out that 26 of the 29 Utah counties are represented at this particular school. Also many states and countries send students there also. The oldest graduate was 58 years old and the youngest was 17 years old. Many of them are students still in High School taking class from Snow College. It was a very nice day for all of us. Jordan and Debbie are the son and wife of our son David Jensen. Congratulations to Emilee Courtright and Katie Stewart who both just graduated into Young Women. Emilee is the daughter of Dana Courtright and Katie is the daughter of Sean and Kim Stewart. Jessica Stewart was released as Assistant Girls Camp Director. Walon and Kami Brinkerhoff had their adorable little son, Walon Kyson, blessed today. He was blessed by his dad Walon and there was a large crowd there to support the family. He is such a cute little boy. It was fun seeing Michael Goulding at church today. He and his wife, Lourdes and children came from Florida for a visit with Herb and La Dora Baugh. Also visiting was Chris Baugh of Las Vegas and Jana Baugh of Castle Rock Colorado. I am sure Cari and her family were there but I did not see them so I am just guessing at this. How fun to have them all home for a visit. We want Steve Pollock to know we are keeping him and his Dad Afton in our hearts and prayers. Steve as he recovers from his surgery and Afton because we all love him and miss his smiling face here in town. As I was entering church today I looked up and saw a very handsome, young man holding the door for me. He patiently waited while I climbed the stairs and then ran ahead to open the other door. I was very pleased. This polite young man was Clay Mortensen and he even smiled. Thanks. Susan Thompson has been busy traveling around and playing with her Softball Team. They have been doing really well. In San Diego they took first place and in Florida they took third place. Right now they are playing in Las Vegas. Susan plays a good game of softball so if you ever want to get a team together. Remember Susan Thompson. She is great. Westyn Clark, son of Dallas and Emilee Clark, received his Wolf Badge in Cub Scouts on April 21st, along with a gold arrow and 3 silver arrows. He worked really hard and put a lot of time and dedication in to Scouting. His parents are very proud of him. The Bear Cub Scouts are meeting on Mondays for three weeks due to the baseball schedules. After that they will dismiss for the summer but encourage all scouts to work on Achievements and Electives with their parents over the summer. The Webelos Den had Ben Rose receive several awards including his "Arrow of Light" which is the highest award a Cub Scout can obtain. He will be turning eleven and moving into the Boy Scouts and we want to congratulate him on this achievement.. Coming up on May 21st will be the Cub Scout Day Camp at Tropic Park. Check with your leaders to find out more details. It is always a fun and educational day. Coming up for the Scouts and Young Men will be a Golf day at 5:00 P.M. on 10 May. This will be at Mt. Carmel. Maybe we will see some warm weather for a change. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the snow corning down on Friday. Heavy snow. Someone pushed the wrong buttons somewhere. Brrr!
