Four members wrestled and 3 placed - Neil Owens in the 130 class took 4th; Brent Brooks took 4th in the 112 Class and Ryan took 3rd in the 119 class. Gus Torgerson took ill and was unable to complete his rounds. At the last Planning and Zoning meeting Elaine Lott was elected Chairperson by her committee. Bryan Lampman and Shane Young will continue as alternates and there is still one position available for anyone interested in serving. According to Forest Supervisor Allen Rowley, the District Ranger position in Richfield should be filled within the next month or two. In the interim, Bob Tuttle will be the acting District Ranger. No timeline has been given as to when the Fillmore District Ranger positions will be filled permanently. BRYCE VALLEY SCHOOL NEWS: The girl's basketball team played Panguitch and lost. However the 7th and 8th grade girls played and won. Sage Roundy is their coach. We are proud of all girls, win or lose. This week they play in Milford on Wednesday and Wayne on Friday at BVHS. One more game after this to the end of the season. The boy's basketball team played Escalante here and won but went to Piute and lost. This week they play Valley at BVHS on Thursday and on Saturday they go to Panguitch to play there. Last week our Sophmore team went to the tournament in Escalante and took third place. Good job boys we sure are proud of you all. This last week was Homecoming week and there were many activities that took place. The Queen contest started things out with Mallory Clarke as Queen, Lesha LeFevre as first attendant and Alexis Tebbs as second attendant. A few days later they held the King contest and Cajun Syrett was King with Scout Holm and Kaden Pollock as attendants. Some of the other activies included a car bash in the parking lot, dress up days, the PTA giving a Tail Gate Party and a good time was had by all. In the Elementary we welcome Beth Johnson as a new Para-Professional working as a reading teacher. There was no school held on Friday due to the excessive snow. Parent-Teacher conferences will be held this Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. No lunch served on Thursday as the student will be released for these conferences. The second term had ended and teachers are working to get report cards done. It is a big job. We love our teachers and ther dedication to the students and their welfare.
