Show JUNE 29,2006 ARMA D. STOCK Arma Dutton Stock, 87 of Cannonville, passed away June 19,2006 in Panguitch after a lingering illness. Arma was born February 20, 1919 in Georgetown, Utah to William Henry and Lilly Francis Mangum Dutton. She married Adelbert "Bert" Stock Jr. on September 6,1937 in Cannonville, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. He preceded her in death December 18, 1980. She worked as a waitress at Ruby's Inn, and later as a maid at both at the Pink Cliffs and at Bryce Canyon Lodge. She was an active member of the Cannonville Ward serving as a visiting teacher, serving in the Primary and the Relief Society, was secretary of the Sunday School and many other callings. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and quilting. She loved to share her bounty with family and friends. She is survived by children, Gerald (Lora "Dawn") Stock, Iris (Morris Arnell) Burr, William Jeffrey Stock, all of Cannonville, Martin "Marty" (Gail) Stock of St. George, Nora Jane (Jim) Wagner of Knoxville, TN; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rile Dutton and Terry Lafel Dutton, both of Austin, Utah; sister, Nina Wilden of Oregon. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carol Stock; brothers and sisters, Annie Dutton, William Henry Dutton Jr., LaNoIa Skinner, Leo Elton Dutton, William Doyle Dutton, Newel Dutton, Dean V. Dutton; four granddaughters; one great-grandson. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 26, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cannonville LDS Ward Chapel. Page 4 THE GARFIELD COUNTY INSIDER OBITUARIES ROXIE LAY FAUTIN BARNEY Roxie Lay Fautin Barney, 88, passed away June 16, 2006, at her daughter's home in Marysvale surrounded by loved ones. Her death was due to causes incident to age. She was very special to her family and will be deeply missed. Our mom had a very strong will through to the end. She was born August 26, 1917, in Richfield, Utah, to William Harvey and Mary Ellen Porter Lay. She married Reese Charles Fautin on December 24, 1935 in Elsinore, Utah. They later divorced. She later married Othello Barney on August 9,1968, in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2003. She is survived by her children, Maureese F. Epling, Marysvale; DeeLynn (Janet) Fautin, Marysvale; and Carla (Rodger) Dennis, Marysvale; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Weldo (Vivian) Lay, Thompsonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thell; parents; seven brothers and five sisters; and son-in-law, DelRay Epling. Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 22, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Marysvale LDS Ward Chapel. DETLEFSEN John Walter Detlefsen, 75 of Hatch, Utah and formerly of Indio, CA, passed away June 9, 2006 in Panguitch, Utah from complications from a lingering illness. John was born November 21, 1931 in San Pedro, California to Walter C. and Edith E. Schubert Detlefsen. He married Suzanne Laughlin, they later divorced. He married Joyce Conner on April 10,1965 in Indio, Calif. He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He installed floor coverings in Indio and surrounding areas for many years before retiring to Hatch, Utah. His survivors include his wife of Hatch and Indio; son, John W. Detelfsen Jr. of Moreno Valley, CA; daughter, Cindy Critchfield of Aubum, CA; stepsons, Jim Engle of LaQuinta and Jerry Engle of Haughton, LA; and 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vern Slankard and stepson, Russell Engle. Graveside services and interment were held on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hatch Utah Cemetery. Military rites were provided by the Panguitch American Legion Post #25.
