Alongside classics such as Bad Religion, current favorites like 3OH!3 and wildcards like country singer Shooter Jennings, Utah groups will have their share of stage time. "Pump It Up" BEVAHERREYCulture writer The Utah Symphony and *Jtah Opera's 6th annual Music Festival in Park City will finish.with a bang through a collaboration with Elvis Costello. The singer has a versatile 30 year music career in rock, New Wave, country, punk, film and classical music. Costello's repertoire includes favorites "Pump It Up," "Alison," "Every Day I Write the Book" and "Watching the Detectives." He will be accompanied by Steve Nieve on the keyboard and will rock the audience on the final day of the Music Festival. Costello, an out of the ordinary talent, started per- forming as a child with his father and has worked with a variety of artists since the 70s. His most famous bands are The Attractions and The Imposters. He has collaborated with numerous artists such " as Burt Bacharach, the Brodsky Quartet and Paul McCartney. Costello's songs have also been recorded by a variety of artists including country megastar. Johnny Cash, rocker Roy Orbison, blues singer Charles Brown and sjca-rock group No Doubt. His latest album, "Momofuko" was recorded with The Imposters and was released this past spring. Most likely there will be opportunities to buy some of his music at the festival for a reasonable price, accord- ing to the Utah Symphonies spokes person. Come rain or shine, bring a blanket, a picnic basket and your favorite friends for a cherished and memorable event. Yahoo.com The Best Time for Music is Right Before Nightfall [JANNALICIA SCHWAB Culture writer Robert Francis will be live in concert at SHO in Murray August 11, promoting his upcoming album Before Nightfall. This talented singer/songwriter is currently supporting Pricilla Ahn on tour so.look for tickets under her name. Francis' first and only album to date, One By One, landed him steady jobs in Southern California and a national tour with Missy Higgins in 2008. He also earned a spot playing weekly at Echo, one of Los Angeles' most well known hot spots for contemporary music. The most exciting milestone in his musical career so far is his recent signing with major music label Atlantic Records, who will produce his upcoming album. Robert Francis' music is unique and fresh in many ways. His voice is deep and throaty, but at the same time carries a lot of emotion with the lyrics he sings.
