The two-disc album is chalked full of 26 songs 18 Dave classics, three new tracks, three covers and two Tim Reynolds original songs - only five of which have appear on both Dave and Tim CDS. If you're down for the bare bones, music-only version, check out the CD. But if you want something more - to experience exactly what it's like to attend an acoustic Dave show - then the DVD versions are made for you, showing the funny moments in between songs when Dave and Tim not only interact with one another, but the audience as well. There's nothing like watching Dave drunkenly tell a very long, elaborate story as if you were personally sitting back carrying on a conversation with him. The reason Dave Matthews gets such acclaim for his acoustic work is because he knows how to do what the majority of acoustic performers cannot. .Because Dave is used to playing live with a six or seven part band, when playing acoustic he fills in for the band not only with the help of Tim, but by using his voice as strong as if he was trying to sing over the band. Hardly any other performs can play and sing with such intensity and [power. In this performance, Dave and Tim pull a few new tricks out of their sleeves. Get ready to see Dave do a few jthings you've never seen or'heard him do before. Get ready to hear Dave's South African roots shine in the new track "Eh Hee." On the DVD, Dave explains how it's his application of the timeless tribal music he heard while visiting with his wife and kids. Dave also tried mixing up the instruments on this album. The Radio City recording of "Out of My Hands," from the Stand Up album, features Dave in his debut performance playing the piano live onstage. Aside from the baritone to record Somej track, Dave also gives solid southernan electric guitar > track "Corn Bread." even gives off an r table performance in o ! self-written tracks?' al" and "You Are My Sanity," as well as his, jSpli^ complementary solo in Dav< fan favorite hit "yfc; Graves" fro Dave Matthew^, Reynold's! .""" But if you're rally into local music, you will have to decide whether to hit up that show or go that same night to Kilby court in Salt Lake City to watch the ever-incredible Joshua James. James has graced the pages of The College Times more than once (as have Neon trees, just to be fair), and his album The Sun Is Always Brighter has become relatively popular as an indie folk release. Neon Trees will be an excellent show, some good old Utah County scenester dancing and it's so close. On the other hand, I'm a huge fan of The Sun Is Always Brighter and Joshua James is a great guy all around. I'll almost definitely be at one or the other, so whichever one I end up at, I'll see you there. For answers, visit: lukehickman.blogspot.com classifieds help wanted Nannies Unlimited Great Jobs.
