The truth is that since the implementation of UVLink a few years ago, financial aid no longer sends out student information through the mail. McCormick said, "We don t mail things out. We send important information through / ; student e-mail." 4 ] This change from a letter-based notification to a strictly electronic notification system may have left some students in the dark about information that is critical to their financial aid > LanP Piinta Bedrooms wtth Locks iouse UgSenwiTV • 4 Bedroom*, 2 Baths, 4 Vanities Piano Room h > High Speed Internet Acoeis Study Room • Central Air Exercise Room with TV • Cable TV Included Game Room • Large Storage Closets Pool Table ' Microwave/Dlshwastier New Laundry Center > Private PaUos • Large Pool/Jscuxzi • Best Sand Volleyball in town • Basketball Court • Gazebo-Picnic Patio • • Public Bus Service Leaving every 15 Minutes from Complex. • • Close to Shopping Malls, Theatres and Restaurant*. There is no way to track the number of students that actually check their student e-mail on a regular basis; it is safe to say that there is a significant percentage that do not check their student e-mail accounts regularly enough. "I wish there was a better way to get adequate understanding with students that this is how we communicate with them," said McCormick. Though there is no way of getting around the necessity of checking for e-mails for direction on completing additional financial aid requirements, there is a way to make the process a little easier. Student e-maiis sent to a UVLink account can be easily forwarded to a more frequented account. According to the Help/Support tab in UVLink, this process can be completed in seven easy steps: 1. Open UVLink 2. Choose E-Mail icon from "button bar on top right 3. Choose Option Tab 4. Choose Auto Forward 5. Type the desired email address in Auto Forward To 6. Choose OK button 7. All messages received in UVLink account will be forwarded and deleted from your UVLink account. By forwarding e-mails from the UVLink accountto a more frequented account, one can be reassured to receive time-sensitive matters pertaining to all manner of school related things, including all notices from the financial aid department. "It pertains to everyone," said McCormick about the importance of checking for student emails often, Learn it, live it, love it and read it."
