With her selection, Cernianska now advances to the national ballot for All-America consideration, which will be announced on Dec. 14. Utah State has now had three players earn all-region honors from the AVCA in the last three years as Erin Cartwright-Davis earned first-team West Region honors in 2003 and was later named an honorable mention All-American by the AVCA. The only other Aggie to be honored by the AVCA was Marie Motil who earned second-team Northwest Region honors following the 1993 season. "We are honored to have Zuzana and Erin recognized by the AVCA as two of the top players in our region," said fifth-year head coach Burt Fuller. "Both players had outstanding seasons and helped lead our program to the WAC Championship match as well as the NCAA Tournament. This honor is well deserved and I am very happy that Zuzana and Erin received this recognition. "I would also like to congratulate the rest of the field. Looking over the list, I feel the committee did a good job and there is fare representation for the region." Cernianska (pronounced Chairn-yun-ska), a senior from Prague, Czech Republic, earned first-team all-Western Athletic Conference honors this year as she led the league with 4.50 kills per game, and set a new single-season kills record at Utah State with 585.
