Her qualifications include Business Council webmaster, Partners in Business student host. College of Business Intern of the Month, press intern for Sen. Orrin Hatch, President's Cabinet Committee member, and writer and webmaster for The Utah Statesman. Christensen said her goals for the coming year are to provide networking opportunities through dinners with distinguished alumni, increase scholarship awareness, develop an alumni mentoring program, promote the internship database web site, and host a table twice a month to inform students of opportunities in the college. Christensen said, "Through working on Business Council, I understand the opportunities available in the college and would like to make students more marketable and promote networking opportunities." 135-770-5741 Marketing and Management major Brandon Lang is a senior from Chatsworth, Calif. His experience includes being an RA for USU Housing with required communication and conflict resolution skills, developing a rapport with the residents, coordinating monthly social, educational diversity and critical issue programs. He played on the USU ice hockey team, was vice president of communication, vice president of programming and vice president for communication for Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Lang said his goals are facilitate all needs for the PAL's program. This program would help undeclared business students by providing the academic resources needed to help them succeed, expand the Alumni Lunch Program, so students are informed and aware of the connections they can make with alumni. College of Business orientation day with advising of each field in the College of Business and inform students about clubs and organizations in the College of Business, Improve facilities in the College of Business by putting new couches in the third floor common area, Keep business students well informed about clubs, organizations, internships and career opportunities through calendars, e-mails, and information booths. Paxman said she plans to be available for students with the college, make extra information for academic help available for students with the college, create a new tradition of having college wide service and or social activities to help bond our college and reimplement the college newsletter monthly. "I would really like to give the students someone that they can come to with questions about the college or with issues that they are having within the college," said Paxman. Engineering Senator Greg Day is a junior civil engineering major. His experience is Engineering Council service chair. Engineers Without Borders board of directors, Reese township planning commission, and Special Olympics volunteer. Day's plans include student involvement, student development, student awareness, increase academic achievement for students, and increase the voice of the engineering student campuswide. Day said. "I will work hard to increase student involvement, student development and student awareness. The College of Engineering should be at the forefront of USU and its students." Electrical and computer engineering major Lincoln Essig is from Centerville, Utah. His qualifications are student advocate on engineering council, ASUSU ombudsman committe, LDSSA Friday Night Activities committe, STAR, Tau Beta Ph honor society, volunteer at Mardi Gras, and volunteer for Homecoming. Essig said he wants to seek to get an additional full-time adviser, explore locker options in the new engineering building, get book title/author and edition with registration, and seek to make the Engineering Senator more accessible to students. "1 will represent College of Engineering Student body by targeting specific issues that will in turn improve engineering student facilities and enhance the quality of learning environment," Essig said. Mechanical engineering major Oscar Marquina is a senior from Caracas, Venezuela. His experience includes scholarship adviser and risk manager for Sigma Chi fraternity, service chair ASME, and member of College of Engineering student council. Marquina said his goals are improve the quality of the engineering program through community involvement, provide engineering clubs with a fundraiser and service activities, job preparation activities with mock interviews, resume workshops, and speakers, opening and closing social with burgers for a buck and live music. Marguina said, "1 want to provide engineers with tools to help them become better students and professionals. I also know how stressful engineering is and realize that we need to have fun." HASS Senator Sophomore Felicia Horsley is a political science major from Burley, Idaho. Her experience is current secretary on HASS Council, a research fellow work with dean and department head on council, and Service Center PALS volunteer. Horsley said her plans for the office are "regularly and periodically provide an opportunity for HASS students to voice opinions, concerns and questions regarding the college and academics, work to unify and centralize students in this diverse college and bring awareness to programs included and available in HASS, so as to better serve students, ensure that advising in the different departments meets students' needs, provide a readily available link between students and BSee Page 7 Perfect Partner.
