Your eyes are starving for something of interest. Luckily for you, the UTA's Art in Transit Program has come to the rescue. This project turns ordinary TRAX stations into a spot of mind-captivating community art. First stop, Bingham Junction An artist named Joe O'Connell lit up Midvale's Station with two sculptures collectively named "Utah Bit and Mine:'This exhibit gives you a taste of the town's history of mining and industry and its correlation to railroads. If you are around these parts at dark, you may be in for a surprise, as the pieces are actually illuminated with colorful light. Criteria • Record of consistent outstanding teaching performance at the University 900 S. Station • Effective and innovative pedagogy and an exceptional ability to motivate student learning "Faces in the Neighborhood" is the name of the exhibit at this station. The 12 foot metal trees actually contain 15 glass molds of children's faces. Library Station If you can't find the books you're looking for in the library, maybe you should try over by the TRAX station across the street. Titled "By Its Cover;' the ingenious Gregg LeFevre has brought words to life in his cast bronze sculptures that add a sparkle to the outside of the library and create a yearning to read for passing pedestrians. U THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH® Trolley Station Victoria Lyons, Paul Heath, Michael Moonbird and Valerie Parker Price capture the true meaning of community in their color-laminated glass windscreens and tile mosaics. This exhibit brings youth and seniors together in a collection of their aspirations for their future endeavors. 900 E. This exciting twist on the human form was built in remembrance of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Woven from what third place medals are made of, the figure is transformed into a bronze torch.
