Show DAILY UTAH CHRONICLE 8 Tuesday, October 22, 2013 Memorandum October 22, 2013 To: University of Utah Students, Faculty and Staff From: Marty Shaub Managing Director Environmental Health and Safety and Emergency Management Re: CAMPUS ALERT Test of the University Emergency Alert system on November 5, 2013 The University will be conducting a test of our emergency alert system and related processes on Tuesday November 5, 2013 at 10:15am. Our goal is to reach the greatest number of individuals in the shortest possible time. To that end, we plan to test text messaging and email distribution capabilities only. This remains the most reliable way to get emergency information to you quickly no matter where you are. If you haven't done so, now is the time to opt in and ensure your SMS text message phone number receives emergency alert text messages from the University. We remain firm in our commitment to use this system ONLY for emergency alerts and tests. - To opt-in or to update your information, please log on now at alert.utah.edu When the test is conducted an interactive website will be set to receive feedback. Your feedback will help us determine how effective the system test was at reaching critical mass in our community. Users with their SMS number in the system a day before the test will be entered into a drawing for one of four winners to receive $25 on their UCard. • Opt-in your SMS text number in Campus Alert before November 5th and be eligible to win $25 cash on your UCard When you get the test alert via text or email, follow the instructions to give us feedback |
