With more and more people becoming technologically savvy and buying in to the social networking craze, the amount of talking people do on their cell phones is bound to decrease too. Toddlers are picking up iPhones and learning to work them as well as, if not better than, their parents. By the time they're adults, cell phones will be a thing of the past. Wireless phone companies need to catch on and make the transition to wireless networking companies. However, the older the cell phone owner, the less likely they are to be using their device for things other than making phone calls. Eighty percent of adults in the United States under the age of 3o partake in social networking, according to a Pew Research Center poll. Only 26 percent of adults older than 5o use social networking. And considering none of them grew up with any similar technology, that's quite a few. Although it seems like nearly everyone spends more time texting and networking than talking, it hasn't yet quite reached that point. Ninety-six percent of cell phone owners in the United States regularly make phone calls on their devices, but 67 percent regularly send text messages and 43 percent use the internet, according to the Pew poll. But that's also not considering the phones that don't have these new-age capabilities.
