What are you expecting from the ASUU elections this year? What is one of your New Year's resolutions? Do you think your tuition money is well spent? How many times have you been skiing or snowboarding this year? What class are you most excited about this semester? I'm hoping for some good dialogue. I'm really hoping that students will come out and say, "This is what we want ASUU to do." That's the point, is to be advocates for the students. I know The Chronicle wrote about the hate crimes from last year — I really don't want to see that. That upset me personally, and we want to prevent that. Do better in Chinese class. Yes and no. I can see why it costs so much, but at the same time, I feel like there could be better ways of allocating money. I'd like to see more open management, seeing how the money is actually spent and making that much clearer to students. I think I could fully back how much tuition we pay if I knew what it was spent on. That information isn't as open as it should be. Not once. I haven't been skiing since I was 12. Environmental Chinese History. I really love the professor, she's amazing. Nothing. I really don't follow it, to be honest. Just to be healthier. For the most part. It could be better. I just know that tuition keeps increasing, and I'm lower income, so I don't find that fair. Zero. I don't do either. My French class. You know, I have no expectations. Do something I'm afraid of every day, or do something I've never done every day. Yeah, I do. Zero. I don't do that anymore. My creative writing class. It will be a break, a nice, easy kind of thing just to get the creativity going. I would hope they would make some intelligent decisions that would benefit the student population while also being frugal with their budget. I don't have any. I would say so. I pay about $2,500 a semester, and I'm exposed to world-class faculty. I'm a biomedical engineering student. I have all the resources I could want — I'm told the U has a top 10 program in terms of public institutions for biomedical engineering, and I'm paying a fraction of the cost of what other students do. I'm really impressed. Skiing once and snowboarding once. Probably my think tank through the Honors College on American Indian Healthcare. It's a yearlong class, and we've been exploring the culture of American Indians. We've taken a few field trips down to the Navajo Reservation and got down to the nitty-gritty of some of the issues we face with resources. Honestly, I don't know hardly anything about it. Just to save more money. Yeah. I'm on scholarship, so I'm not really that concerned about it. None at all. I haven't been skiing or snowboarding in probably three years. I am most excited about taking biochemistry. Anna Sprouse Senior, International Studies Nick Shifrar Junior, Psychology Jackson Murphy Junior, Biomedical Engineering Haley Wilson Junior, Biology |
