Students need to have opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom, he said. "This was great," said Eric Anderson, a sophomore in engineering. "I'm very happy because I have class at 3:45," Bainbridge said. Meera Arajhavan, a freshman in biomedical engineering, agrees. "It would be nice to get everyone in the mood for the game," she said. Maria Jose, a senior in accounting and information systems and a member of the Ministry Leadership Team, said it's the core members of their parish that come together for Mass on the Grass. "People come check it out and get inspired," Jose said. "I think because it is out on the grass, people see it as more informal, and people from different faiths are willing to come by. We always get a blessing to all students who are attending school this year, which I think appeals to people as well." Megan Montoya, a junior in psychology, said she likes to come to Mass on the Grass because it is a good experience to meet up with friends. "It is just good for spirituality to be outside and celebrate Mass with your peers," she said. Schlichte said by next week the center will return to its normal schedule, and that those who are interested in getting involved just have to "come on down, and come to Mass." Each Sunday night during the school year, the center offers dinner to those who participate in Mass. Different families from the congregation make the dinner, and students are asked to pay $2 to reimburse the family for food costs. "It's the best two bucks they will spend on food all week, better than you would get spending that on noodles or cereal," Schlichte said. m.bowen@ chronicle.utah.edu MAOMI BLACKBURN/The Daily Utah Chronicle During Sunday's Mass, resident Brother Gabriel Mosher leads the procession onto the Presidents' Circle lawn.
