Show Salt Lake City, UT- Don Floyd Wardell, age 70, passed away of natural causes in his home in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 11, 2001. Born -December 16, 1930 in Mountain Home, Utah the son of Joseph Vern and Lillie Ilene Fillmore Wardell. ee Don attended the school for the deaf in Ogden, where he majored in upholstery, woodworking, and printing. He was very athletic and was a star basketball player for the school. He was also on the boxing team. He was a letterman in several school sports and other activities. Carlile, Received their Eagle Scout awards. Both Draper and Jacob are Honor students at Wasatch Junior High. Both boys participated in a regional science fair at B.Y.U. last year. Jacobs Eagle project was to assist the High — Valley Amateur Radio Club by being control operator during the Wasatch County Fair Days parade, and coordinate garbage clean up during, and © after the parade. Draper’s project was to organize a newspaper recycling, and collect the newspapers. : , eee OeR RNRep e Nene | * Don had a wonderful personality, and made friends easily. He was an elder in the LDS Church. The fact that he was deaf was never used as a handicap to others. Patience was a virtue he employed often, especially ‘when he helped others learn to sign. Bowling was a favorite pastime, and © he was well known for those abilities in the Salt Lake Valley winning many awards and trophies. Don is very well loved and will be greatly — missed by his family and friends. ~ , | | | _ Survivors include his mother, Lillie Wardell; son, Bill (Anissa) Wardell and granddaughter LilyAnn all of Midway; three sisters, Susan (Val) — Warnick of Midway; Myrl Christensen of Sandy; Betty (Dee) Jacobsen of Spanish Fork; brother, Leo Wardell of Reliance, WY.
