He cared about his neighbor. He taught his children to always give others the benefit of the _ doubt. He would rather be faulted for giving too much instead of not enough. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 wonderful years, Della. Six chil- _ dren: Calvin C. joan Van Wagoner) of Lewiston, ID; Wayne M. (Janet Pace) of Grace, ID; Boyd A. (Alice Gold) of Santa Clara, CA; Marilyn (J. Lynn Rasband) of Midway, UT; Colleen (David C. Larson) of West Jordan, UT; and Kathleen (William T. Howe) of South Jordan, UT. He is also sur-vived by 30 loving grandchildren, 57 of the greatest great-grandchildren, _ and brother Grant Alder of Ogden, UT. He was preceded in death By: his parents, two sisters, Elma McDonald and Lavaun Bowden. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, at 1:00 p.m. in the Midway 1st Ward Chapel located at 250 East 200 South. Viewing at Olpin-Hoopes Mortuary, Friday, February 2 from 6-8 p.m. located at 288 North Main, Heber City, UT, and Saturday morning, February 3, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the Midway 1st Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the en City Cemetery. _ ASPEN HOLLOW PUBLIC HEARING | A piplic hearing regarding the proposed Aspen Bollow development is sched- _ _uled for Feb. 15, 7:30 p.m., at the Midway City Council chambers. The develop- _ " ment, amidst heated debate regarding density and nuisance, is slated to be located in Midway off 400 West. GET MOONED AT ae PARK Friday evening, Feb. 9, everyone will have a chance to slip on a pair of snowshoes, grab their coat and head off on a moonlit hike at Wasatch Mountain State Park. The snowshoe adventure is sponsored | by Friends of Wasatch Mountain State Park, a non-profit organization that, among other things, host a number of family oriented es throughout the year. _ Under the glow ofa full moon, the hike will start from the park’s Visitor — Center at 7:30 p.m. The Homestead Resort will provide snowshoes for $5 for those who don’t have their own equipment. They recommend a. flashlight and winter boots. The hike is expected to last around an hour and is designed for medium effort. Upon returning to the Visitor Center, guests will be greeted with hot cocoa, a warm fire and oy conversation. Past activities, sponsored by Friends, have included luncheon hikes with llamas, cross-country ski day at Soldier Hollow, Tate Barn > Train Ride and an annual Wasatch Mountain golf tournament. In addition to the activities, Friends plays an important role in supporting park programs and has had an integral part in the restoration efforts underway for the historic Tate Barn. Candace Harmon will be teaching step, interval and floor aerobics during the mid-morning class. The classes are offered every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 to 9 a.m., and every - Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. at 75 N. 100 W. in _ Heber. Childcare is available at the 8 — 9 a.m. classes. The cost is $2 per class or $20 for an 11-class punch card. Also, for the month of February, Parks and Rec is offering half price Fridays. On Fridays, the ules will only cost $1 for each participant. Parks and Rec welcomes Cane McWhirter ; as an instructor for the Water Aerobics Program. Water aerobics are offered Monday'and Wednesday from — 9 to 10 p.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. The cost is S2 per class, which are held at the Jr. High School pool.
