This is a Thursday and Friday, so it would provide a nice opportunity for an extended four-day weekend. So maybe you’re thinking the same thing | am... why not go somewhere? WHERE being the operative word. So | thought | might offer up some ideas. How about Utah’s number one short stay getaway? Disneyland-or, in no particular order of preference: Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco or Seattle. Or a little more exotic, maybe Vancouver, which I think is. North America’s finest city...sort of a combination of Hong Kong, Sydney and San Francisco all faceted in this jewel of the Northwest. Of course for something a little quicter, you. might consider Victoria on Vancouver. Island with the U.S. dollar’ strong against the Canadian currency, the whole Country seems on-sale_ for nearly half-price. Other than traveling west of Denver, nothing else makes sense time-wise. I would like to suggest you at least con-__ sider traveling to Europe this November _ _ thru the end of March next year. As it is low season (excluding Christmas holidays) and the weather is not always what you think it will be, in fact, it can be mild in Central and Western Europe _and very pleasant in the Mediterranean countries: And there are many bonuses for traveling in Europe at this time, such as airfare in the $500 range round-trip, ae re Rk no crowds or long lines for The Eiffel PE ese.Ere g pd ? And of course what $300 a night for this sumyours for half or better this season. It really is a much more civilized — time to travel since you won't be fighting the vacationing French in August, or the thousands of European school children out for summer holidays, just as you show up at The Tower of London. I think a great thing to do is a five or six-day London Theater Break. With London’s west-end offering a plethora of smash hits, one can easily see many plays in London, months if not years ahead of their transatlantic crossing. to New York’s Broadway. What about the weather you say? No one ever travels to London for the weather anyway, as the English say “if you don’t like it now, wait a minute and it. will change,” besides, | have a magic list of 101 things to do in London on a rainy day. (Yes this Tist comes in very handy.) People don’t realize most of London’s world famous museums are free of admission, or you could spend the afternoon in the crypt of “St. ‘Martins in the Field” Church at Trafalgar Square, and create a very handsome brass rubbing for your wall. (If you would like to see one, or find out what it is, stop by my office.) Or, how about going to Portobello Road on Saturday and bartering with a Cockney for that special something you can’t go home without. Then again, you could of always stayed ~ home to see if my dream came true.
