On Wasatch’s second offensive series VanRoosendall carried the ball 6 of the 8 plays,-down’to the North Sanpete 20-yard line. The. drive stalled at the 20-yard line and Wasatch missed a 30 yard field goal. North Sanpete then took’ over the ball on the Wasatch 20. Chris Anderson kicked the extra point making the score 7-0, North Sanpete. Wasatch opened the second quarter with a 20-yard VanRoosendall run. On the next play Wasp quarterback, Brock Budd, was hit hard and fumbled the ball. North Sanpete’s Justin Mechmen recovered the ball on the en ie line. Then on Sed and 13 North Sanpete completed a 20-yard pass play. Two plays later Clint Aime scored North Sanpete’s second touchdown on a two yard run. Wasatch’s Travis Atwood made a touchdown saving tackle, at the end of the 50-yard return. But two plays later Johnson completed a 42-yard pass to Mark Noorlander for a touchdown. In an offensive series that should have ended the half with. the score 21-7, Wasatch committed two costly mistakes. North Sanpete received the second half kick off and proceeded to march 65 yards in 5 plays, scoring on a - 4-yard pass. The extra point kick was good and North Sanpete increased their lead 34 to 7. Wasatch’s next possession ended after 7 plays and 35 yards rushing by VanRoosendaal, at the North Sanpete 45-yard line. North Sanpete’s next drive was aided by a personal foul on 3rd down. On the next play North Sanpete completed a 20-yard pass, and tacked on a 15-yard penalty for holding. Two plays later a screen pass and a recovered fumble in the end zone, gave North Sanpete a touchdown. The extra point kick was good and North Sanpete stretched their lead to 41-7. In the next series Mitch Morgan of Wasatch took the hand off from Brock Budd and ran 40 yards to the 48-yard line of North Sanpete. Three VanRoosendaal carries, the last one a3-.. yard touchdown, gave Wasatch their second score. Dummar made his second ry extra point and Wasatch cut the lead to 41-14. Wasatch held North Sanpete to. three plays: and a punt. ‘This. oe proved -to be costly for Wasatch.On the first play, Josh Probst ran up the middle gaining 15 yards and meeting head on a North Sanpete player. Josh injured his neck and was taken to the hospital for tests. Four plays later on 4th and:-10 Brock Budd dropped back-for a pass, got sacked and twisted his knee. Both Brock and Josh were out for the rest of the game, and are in questionable condition for next. week’s game. The ‘defense held North Siinde to 3 plays and a punt. VanRoosendaal then fumbled twice losing the last one. The defense held North Sanpete, again to 3 plays and then stopped a 4th down attempt. Wasp back up quarterback, Dave Gertsch made a 32-yard scramble on 3rd down to keep the drive alive. _ VanRoosendaal broke free for a 48 yard run down to the North Sanpete 15-yard line. VanRoosendaal, then scored his third touchdown of the game on a 2yard run. Dummar kicked the extra point ending the game with a score of Wasatch 21, North Sanpete 41. Other Highlights: WanRonsendaal has a rushes for 533 yards. Record: Wasatch’s state record high, drops to 53 I-l and North Sanpete stays undefeated at 2-0. Wasatch will travel to Carbon High School, for the second year in a row, for their 7:00 p.m. game Friday night. JV game at North ec The JV beat North Sanpete High School 40-22. Freshmen game at North Sanpete. The freshmen lost a defensive struggle 6-0.
